Website Terms and Definitions

 Internet website cookies:

A cookie is a small amount of data generated by a website and saved by user's web browser. The purpose of cookies is to remember information about the user, similar to a preference file created by a software application..

Some sites save both username and password in a cookie, while others only save username. Whenever a user check a box that says, "Remember me on this computer," the website will generate a login cookie once you successfully log in and save the information for each time the user visits the website.

Cookies are also used to store user preferences for a specific site. For example, a search engine may store search settings in a cookie. Financial websites sometimes use cookies to store recently viewed stock quotes.

Browser cookies come in two different types: "session" and "persistent." Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when the browser is closed. These types of cookies are often used by e-commerce sites to store items placed in your shopping cart. Persistent cookies are designed to store data for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies allow websites to "remember you" for two weeks, one month, or any other amount of time. (Cookie Definition, 2021)

User Interface (UI):

A user interface is also called a UI or an interface. In simple terms it can be defined as the process or means by which a person controls a software application or a hardware device.

Nearly all programs include graphical controls or GUI. A typical GUI of a software includes a menu bar, toolbar, windows, buttons and other controls. for example desktop, windows, icons etc are some common elements found in different operating systems. these elements make it possible for people to use different operating systems without having to relearn the interface.

The goal of a good user interface is to provide a user friendly experience. the interface can be designed for software as well as hardware or a combination of both.

Page Source:

Source code is a human-readable text written in a specific programming language. The goal of the source code is to set exact rules and specifications for the computer that can be translated into the machine’s language. As a result, source codes are the foundation of programs and websites. (ionos digital guide,2021)
there are hundreds of different programming languages but most common are BASIC, Java, C, C++, Python etc.
